Temperature control is crucial in the pharmaceutical industry. As a specialist in this field, Coolworld helps companies maintain their production or storage facilities at exactly the right temperature. But what does that involve, and how does Coolworld ensure optimal service for its clients? Sebastian Hoppe, Coolworld's specialist for the pharmaceutical sector, explains.
What kind of companies in the pharmaceutical industry can turn to Coolworld for a temporary cooling solution?
"The answer is very simple: all companies. We serve small organizations in this sector, but we also work with large and international manufacturers. No matter how big or small your organization is, we always help you find a tailor-made solution. We don't like to say 'no.' We are open to all assignments, partly because a small request can be the beginning of a major collaboration."
"We always offer flexibility and customized solutions. Sometimes there is a need for a standard solution, but often the solution is more complex. For every customer request, we find a suitable solution. It has never happened that we couldn't provide the right solution. Our customers ensure that we continue to push our own boundaries."
What challenges does working in the pharmaceutical industry bring, and how does Coolworld address them?
"In this industry, everything must be perfectly arranged: from temperature control and technical details to strict international regulations and certifications. This ranges from national legislation to global standards like GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO certifications. Thanks to our experience and expertise in this sector, Coolworld knows what customers demand and expect. This is essential for trust."
"When it comes to product safety, we take no risks. Coolworld's philosophy is that quality starts at the foundation: investing in the right products and maintenance processes. We believe in investing in equipment of the highest standard. As a result, we have a modern fleet with the latest technologies. We also carry out preventive maintenance and ensure that all our installations comply with current standards and certifications. Our customers know they can rely on us, regardless of the complexity of their project."
It is important to see us as a partner, not just a supplier. We remain involved throughout the entire rental period. We handle the installation, maintain regular contact, and respond immediately if any problems arise.
Why do companies in the pharmaceutical sector choose to rent a cooling solution instead of buying one?
"The purchase of a cooling system can be a lengthy administrative process, especially for large enterprises. The decision-making process can sometimes take months or even years. By the time it's finalized, your needs may have changed. With a rental solution, you immediately have the cooling capacity you require. You can easily and quickly scale up or down as the situation demands. Renting also offers financial advantages: it is often more attractive from a tax perspective and reduces investment risks."
What does Coolworld's "full-service approach" mean for customers in the pharmaceutical sector?
"It is important to see us as a partner, not just a supplier. We actively think along with our customers and help them wherever we can. That’s why, when we receive a request, we always visit your storage or production site and discuss all the requirements together. What do you need, and for how long? Can we get started immediately, or are there preparatory activities that need to be completed? Based on this, we provide a proposal for a tailor-made solution."
"We remain involved throughout the entire rental period. We take care of the installation, maintain regular contact, and respond immediately if there are any issues. We offer solutions with remote monitoring, allowing us to monitor temperature and other parameters from a distance. This helps us detect faults early and react quickly. We also ensure that sufficient spare parts are available, or for larger projects, even a complete backup compressor. This guarantees continuity. In the case of any unexpected problems, customers can reach us 24/7."
It can happen that a customer needs your cooling solution for longer than initially expected. How do you handle that?
"It is absolutely no problem to keep our solutions in place longer than initially discussed. In fact, this is more often the rule than the exception. We have a customer who initially rented for three months, and now this cooling solution has been in place for years. We are flexible in that regard. Cooling solutions that are at a customer's site are never pre-scheduled for future projects. Only when a cooling solution is truly returned to us does it become available for other jobs again. This way, it is always possible for customers to extend the rental period."
The pharmaceutical industry is constantly evolving. How does Coolworld stay up-to-date with changing laws and regulations?
"Legislation and regulations change regularly, but the pace of these changes is usually manageable for us. When new standards are introduced, such as the switch to new refrigerants due to stricter environmental legislation, it can take several years for these to be fully implemented. This gives us time to adapt and test our installations. Such transitions mainly offer us opportunities. Customers are often hesitant to invest in their existing equipment because they know it may no longer comply with new regulations in the future. Therefore, they increasingly opt for a rental solution."
We always offer flexibility and tailor-made solutions. Sometimes a standard solution is required, but often the solution is more complex. For every customer request, we find the appropriate solution. It has never happened that we couldn't provide the right solution. Our customers ensure that we continue to push our own limits.
Want to know more about rental solutions for the pharmaceutical sector?
When cooling units have reached the end of their lifespan and ‘the box’ itself is still good, we refurbish them. The old cooling technology goes out, the new one goes in. This way, we ensure that you as a customer have a perfectly functioning unit with the very latest technology and a low GWP.
As our customer, we want to offer you the best possible temperature solution. That means that that solution works perfectly, is safe and meets all environmental legal requirements. In 2018, we made major investments in units with natural refrigerants such as CO2. And we are continuously researching other ways of cooling, such as dry cooling. So you can rest assured that your refrigeration system always meets the latest environmental standards. Want to know more?
